My Story

I’m Justin, the technician behind Treasure Valley Tech. I started my career in the U.S. Army as a 25F and 25U, working in communications and IT. Over the last 25+ years I’ve gone from dusty tents in Iraq and Afghanistan to supporting large enterprise environments for companies like Hewlett Packard, NTT and state Medicaid systems — and now, helping families and small businesses here in the Treasure Valley.

Service, Experience & Growth

  • Early 2000s

    U.S. Army – 25F / 25U (Communications & IT)

Began my IT career in the Army working communications, radios and networking. Learned how to keep systems online in less-than-ideal conditions and how to explain technical problems in plain English to people who just needed things to work.

  • Iraq & Afghanistan

    Deployments & Contracting Overseas

Deployed to Iraq and later supported contracting work in Afghanistan. Built, maintained and troubleshot communications gear, servers and workstations in high-stress, high-stakes environments. Those years shaped how I approach reliability, security and calm problem-solving under pressure.

  • Enterprise IT

Hewlett Packard, NTT & Large Environments

Moved into enterprise IT, supporting large organizations and complex infrastructures. Worked on Windows servers, networking, storage and application environments for companies like Hewlett Packard and NTT, as well as state Medicaid systems. This gave me deep experience with stability, patching, backups and real-world security.

  • Today

    Treasure Valley Tech

Today I bring that big-environment experience home to the Treasure Valley — helping families and small businesses with honest, straightforward computer repair, cleanup and upgrades. My goal is simple: treat your system with the same care I would use for mission-critical equipment, and explain everything in a way that actually makes sense.

Why I Do This

Technology is how I provide for my family, but it’s also how I stay connected to the people I care about. When I’m not working on systems or crawling around behind a desk full of cables, I’m spending time with my kids, going on adventures, playing games, and building memories here in Idaho.

That’s a big reason I care so much about your computers too — they hold your photos, documents, school work, businesses and memories. I want your tech to support your life, not get in the way of it.

What You Can Expect Working With Me

  • Clear explanations in normal, non-jargon language.
  • Recommendations based on your needs, not just “more stuff.”
  • Respect for your time, your home and your data.
  • A technician who has seen everything from field radios to enterprise data centers — and now, your living-room PC.
